Burden by Daginne Aignend

Passively he sits in his chair
Fragments of his daughter’s words
are slowly seeping into his mind
Daily care – forget his pills – such a burden
A retirement home – better off

Passively he sits in his chair
They transferred him
into this cozy place
Weekly bingo with the peers
He doesn’t need much
In his vegetating state
a regular dash of water will do
