Dead Ringers by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

The threat had been neutralized
and SWAT moved in.
The worst mass shooting in the country’s history.
And as they slowly made their way through the club
stepping over all the bodies,
an army of mobile phones kept ringing.
Worried family members wanting to know.
All with different ringtones.
No one answering.
And later the trauma shrink they brought in
asked one of the SWAT guys how that made him feel
and he snapped at the shrink asking her how that would make
her feel.
She said nothing and jotted some notes down.
And he was put on administrative leave.
And medications for the rest.
All those different ringtones.
With him forever.
