Joe To His New Bride by John Grey

Sex was invented
so bodies would not be bored.
It can’t all be
wine-tasting, clever conversation,
and F Scott Fitzgerald.
What sleep does for the mind,
a quick burst of love-making
does for otherwise little used parts
of the anatomy.
Lie down on the bed
and praise the Lord for
thinking of everything.
