Neighboring Lights by JD DeHart

In the night, I have
bad dreams about people
accusing me of snuffing
out all the candles

When I wake up
and decide to roam,
the world around me
is dark, save one or two
neighboring lights, and I
cannot help but ask
questions about why
they are up too –
the same dream, a
different one?
Sleepless for whatever
reason exists.
