The Evidence Net by Christopher Barnes

Arthur Conan Doyle refined an eardrum
To nuclear hissing.  A skimming disk
Asteroiding Roswell’s desert.
The break-up was forecast
By trigger-hot plain-clothers,
Hunkered under static.
Junk-drop: foil, rubber, timber,
Quick-changes for photographs.
His give-and-take with baffled newshounds
Slipped away in a waste paper basket.
