Human Hand by Chris Butler

My opposable thumb
devolves me from apes.
My pointer finger
displaces all the blame.
My middle finger
expresses how I feel.
My ring finger
stays naked whilst alone.
My pinkie finger
runs all the way home.
And my clenched fist
makes me human.

Chris Butler is an anorexic starving artist. His latest chapbook in his Poems of Pain series, Bummer, was recently published by Scars Publications. He is also the co-editor of The Beatnik Cowboy.
