Miss Our Morning Coffee by Subhankar Das

Your cutie pie is cute no doubt
but has a little madness added
as a dressing.
I remember once we were having
this morning coffee in a café
near my house
and I was all excited with this conversation
and her youngness
and I just said that sweet nothing
I love you girl.
She smiled it away
just straightened her dress
making her young titis look sharper.

The first call came that evening.
Then she started calling at all bizarre hours
looking for an explanation for that remark
and it became more and more frantic.
She started abusing me being an old pervert.
I tried not to lose the friendship
but I knew the end was on its way
and like all mad storms which starts
all of a sudden without a signal
and ends as if nothing happened
she stopped calling one day.

I still miss our morning coffee though
Or maybe those young smiling titis
Who knows?
