Dueling Deaths by A.J. Huffman

Two
guns,
one shot.
Bullet’s blast
backfires in darkness,
mirrors the blankness held inside
entwined minds.  One pretending to be god, the other echoing
same disdain for life, but reversed.
Never firing,
just holding.
Finger’s
pull,
stilled.
